Thought some may be interested. Ive really enjoyed this project at work. I r&d'd these from the start. Went from solid works, to a sheet metal mockup, to a couple revisions, to a real thing.

Custom trailing arms to be hooked into FWD TH425 setup rear mounted in a cab over ford econoline. Lots of tig welding. All the outside corners will be blended.

Johnny joint to be.

Frame side mount. Extra wide for tow adjustments with shims/spacers

Shop cut and machined replication of the cast iron bearing race pocket from the knuckle all mounted in Tig'd to the arm.

All going in that. With the sole purpose of doing wheelies on the street :thumb:

This project has been awesome for me. The outside plate is 3/16ths, inside plate is 1/8th and its all boxed with 1/8th except the rear most cap with the tab sticking off it is 3/16ths because the coilover will go there. Its more or less a replication of a stingray trailing arm suspension design but everything will be way more adjustable with heims and obviously custom and made to fit around slicks. I got lots of Tig practice in on this and Im glad to say Im progressing with it. I did every last weld on it including the very nice bearing to arm inside corner, not to toot my own horn :D

Is that supposed to be a replica of the wheelie truck that ran in the late 60's. I remember seeing it in Pomona and at OCIR when I was a kid.

Your probably thinking of the "Little Red Wagon" that was a popular attraction in the 70's at dragstrips...it was an A-100 Dodge van,but there were several imitators that used other makes too..it was sold at auction for 550,000 bucks!..

I remember going to New England Dragway one night many years ago, when they had drag races under the lights, and I saw the "Paddy Wagon",a Vega wagon wheelstander, and the "Hell On Wheels" tank wheelstander..they also had a hydrogen peroxide powered rocket car there and many funny cars..quite a few people who didn't get back far enough from the fence, despite being warned too many times by security and the guy in the tower over the speakers, got their hair dyed green when the rocket car took off!..:haha:

I like the power connection in the background. I have always been a fan of those dead front plugs.
Much safer than the paper covered ones, because there is no exposed wires.........

Oh wait..........
