What kind of Battery?

I am all about the Optimas. I keep one in My 71 duster, that only gets started every few months. Optima is one of the few batteries that can take repeted full discharges. If you want THE battery for your setup using a single battery you need to get the Optima Group 31 yellow top. It is 25% bigger than the red top and produces about 40% more power. I have one of those coming this Thursday. I only have a 9000# Warn, but I run a dozen lights and several electrical high draw devices and an inverter and I have a habit of running the stereo for hours at a time with the truck off. Regarding the durability concern, both my truck and my sons run Optimas and the battery tray or holddown have broke on them. His battery ended up leaning against his header after it bounced off the radiator fan. Mine arc welded most of the top post off when it landed on my inner fender. The warning lights kept coming on and the headlights started going out on mine. Both of these batteries are still in the trucks, and working fine. They just look a little rough. BTW the dual post is nice for running multiple accessories.

grommet....

How about a peice of radiator hose for a 2" grommet?--or go to Home Depot or Lowe's and buy a PVC condiut connector, like the ones with 2 nuts that protect wires where they enter a fuse box....ANYTHING is better than nothing!..

question for you people with duals and an isolater... I understand that an isolator will keep them seperate but what if you want to use both?
my Ramsey Patriot 15k is currently 298 miles from me :doah:

I want to be able to use both batteries for the winch..... so just hook it up like a diesel?

With the Hellroaring setup, you can select both. Or just one etc. Read my first post again for an explanation. :D

I bought 2 red top side post batteries from Autozone for my 6.2l Diesel the other day.. then had to return one of them because my vehicle is wired for a top post on one side and side posts on the other...

but the problem is that they didn't have a red top the same size with top posts.. so I had to get the gold top. So, now I have different sized batteries. My question is.. will this cause any problems? Or will it make zero difference?
