Found some springs in the back yard, don't know where they came from. I thought they were 56s, but got them next to some 56s and they were different. 2.250" wide vs 2.5" and the center pin is 24"x31.5" vs 26"x30". The have about 2" more arch then the 56"s. That's with 7 leaf 56"s and the overload still on them, but not on the oddball springs.

I think dodge used a 2.250" wide spring. AFAIK all GM springs are 2.5" wide with the exception of one ton stuff where the fronts are 3" wide and i think the rears where 2.75" IIRC.

I've heard dodge 52"s are more offset which would make sense. Thing is, I don't member ripping any springs off any dodges and neither does my bro, and they were on a pallet with more of our springs in our area. I have a '91 dodge in the yard I could compare them to.

I'm thinking about putting them in the front of my K5. Right now I have 56"s and they don't have enough arch to get as much uptravel as I want.

The old F100 / F250 springs from 68-72 are 24 x 32 and 2-1/4" wide which is the closest thing I know of.

I have measured the factory springs on the front of 1 ton chevy trucks in the past. If you buy aftermarket springs then Yes they list them as fitting 1/2-1 ton.

1/2, 3/4, and 1 ton chevy/gmc trucks came from the factory with 3" wide front springs. Ive owned all 3 that were stock.

Only the 1 ton trucks had 3" wide front springs. My blazer was bone stock when i got it and the front springs were 2.5" wide. You cannot put a 3" wide spring on a 10 bolt D44 front because of the pumpkin side.

They taper in the middle, 3" at the ends. I have 2.5" wide 56" rear springs in the front of my Blazer. They require spacers to fit the FUSH/hanger.

Now stop bickering. :D

Every Chevy rear spring I've ever seen was 2.5" wide. I have a yard full of them.
