What kind of tranny is this? pics

What kind of transmission is this? It is cast iron with an aluminum adapter on the back and aluminum plate on the top. It is supposed to be a 5 speed from a newer model Chevy truck. I think that something internally is wrong with it, is anything (adapter?) on the outside worth anything?

What parts do you need? I think that something inside is wrong because when I turn the input shaft it will turn for a while and then "clunk" to an immediate stop. It was dropped off by a friend of mine, he wanted me to throw it away... you can have whatever parts you want /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I have one here that was run low on gear lube. The input bearing got red hot, the input shaft sheared and the first set of gears got all melty too.

I stripped it down and put it away...
