So... the ol' trail rig needs some shocks.

How do I go about measuring to find out what length I need?

Flex it out to the max... measure droop length on the one side and the compressed length on the other side?

Am I missing anything?

That's the right way. Then you know. You do want a little give each way though. Sometimes, wheeling you will flex or compress more. You need some extra travel on the shocks. You don't want to bottom them out like I am doing right now. That's where limit straps and bumps come into the equation.

I would just pick up a 14in shock and make it work. Measure full bump, add an inch for good measure and then rock it

I'm running 14" front and 10" rear, the rear are inboarded though
