The motor i bought has a new cam with the stock lifters...
I'm going to check the valve lash and cant remember what type of lifters came stock...
Were they hydrolic lifters?
Easiest way to tell?

Is it OK to use the stock lifters with a new cam?

Small block 350
Comp Cam 268h

Yes they are hydraulic lifters. Stock lifters will work with a 268h cam. Make sure they are NEW! Never reuse old lifters on a new cam.

Kinda what i thought...

I think i'll go get some new lifters and stick them in before the intake goes on.
Any recommended part, or just the regular comp cams hydrolic's for a small block?

Yeah the comp lifters would be the best way to go. What about the valve springs? If yours are stock it would be best to upgrade the springs. Espically if they are used.
Call Comp cams or go to their site they can give you the number for the springs.

I was told the springs were new and good for up to .500

I'm gonna look for a part number on them somewhere...

Heads are already on the motor.. dont really wanna pull them to change springs...
I know it can be done with them on.. but...

def get new lifters. you can get em at napa even, it doesnt matter whos name the box says, the lifters are all made by one company. that cam shoud be fine with stock springs. it has a nice little rumble to it. put one in an engine years ago for a guy in his 68 elcamino. really woke that 350 up!
