A buddy of mine has a first gen Bronco in his shop and it has a weird electric locker in the front axle. Anybody know what brand this is?

Tough to guess without knowing what kind of truck it is (coil springs so probably a Dodge) but it looks like a D44 with a central axle disconnect. That could be a guard over the actuator, can't see the actuator to tell if it is stock or an aftermarket version.

1st gen Bronco d44, they didn't have front lockers, so must be aftermarket or a late model diff donnor.

Good eye, I missed the radius arm bracket.

It’s an early Bronco, not sure if it’s the original axle or not. The shop is finishing the build for a customer that another shop started. My buddy is the mechanic that is working on it and is not sure how to wire it, it has four wires coming out of it. I was at the shop today getting some free work done on my truck and figured I’d try to help them figure out what brand of locker it is.

If it b4 1973 that d44 came from another truck 1973 and up was an option. Most have Dana 30's

It's a Detroit electrac. I thought I had the only one left. It looks exactly like mine, I think it's the only one with the new diff cover and actuator guard. If the wiring posted doesn't answer any questions, I have the instructions that came with mine, I'll post up whatever you need.

I saw one on the trail last year, that’s the only reason why I knew what it was.

If you have the instructions that would be awesome.

I'll try to get them scanned in this evening and off to you Since I don't think too many other folks care, I'll PM (or whatever it's called)them to you.
