What makes an imported car driver, a ricer? EDIT: is this rice?

any jap car is a ricer to me. buy American. If it don't have a V8 it ain't worth messen with.

what is considered Buying American anymore? Most Mitsubishis are built in America. The only ones that are not are Lancers and Evos. Even then they have parts made in America on them. It is the same with many of the "Import" car manufacturers. It will not be long before more of them are built in America than American cars. Look at Ford, Dodge, and GM... Canada and Mexico....

I guess a modern day ricer is any small car that the 16 Y/O kids think is the fastest thing on 4 wheels because it has a fart muffler, K&N air filter, and a huge wing bolted on the trunk.

You are all prolly gonna haze me for this. I used to be 100% anti import. Anything Not Big three was rice when you asked me. Low and behold that fast and furious movies woke me up about imports. Supra in the first one got me a bit interested, Skyline and Evo in the second got me to accept it all the more. I just got the third movie the other day. If I could afford an Evo or Impreza I would probably buy one. Relativly quick stock, awd would be good for iowa winters...to an extend. 4 door, good mileage.

I almost hate to say it but some of these import car companys have alot up on the domestics.

+1

Kind of like Ford and Mazda are the same thing now? Reminds me of my roomate....die hard Ford guy. Will rant all the time about ford this ford that, yet he owns a 69 Chevelle, and a honda accord (along with his fords).

I used to be all for the american made stuff (when it was american made) now the only thing I own that is, would be my k5. My bike is japanese (Honda) and my car is German (Oldschool Beetle though in the end they were made in Mexico, Brazil, Australia, etc...).

It is harder and harder everyday to buy American :(

I still believe I have more chance of keeping more of my money in the country buying a Canadian built Impala from a family owned dealership in my home city .

I look at the big picture , all my vehicles that came off a lot were bought in the city I live in so the city taxes went to my city . The profit went to the family owned dealer . And GM has a big building in Detroit with its name on it , so perhaps some of my money made it to the people working stateside .
