What motor for a 95 3500

I'm looking at a 1995 silverado 3500. It's crew cab long bed 4x4 with the 454. What 454 is this? If I remember right the vortec didn't start until 96 correct. So that should make this just a normal tbi454 right? Also would this be worth getting, I've heard this 454 is a dog and I should keep looking for a vortec. The truck is gonna be mainly for towing the blazer.

If you want Vortec shop 96 and up. The 95 will be tbi as you stated.

AFAIK you are right, its a TBI. 95 was kind of a bastard year, new interior, old motor.

I would personally wait, but im curious to see what other ppl say. I'd think now would be the time to find a screaming deal on a BB truck, should be able to get what you want.
