I have been drooling and reading and buying parts for 6.0 motors.
I have a 6.0 motor I bought got the buggy build, and another 6.0 with iron heads I picked up.
the plan was to build a 402 stroker with the L92 heads and get above the 600 mark put propane on it and have a really fun light rig, with a stak case I could crawl..and with some ponies I could have a blast in the sand.
now that the warrenty is way passed gone on the white truck, 07 classic, I am leaning towards dropping in a built 6.0 and saving the stock 6.0 for the rainy day I am sure that I will bring on myself
currently the buggy has a mild 454, but lighter aluminum headed, higher reving, more hp small block sounds like more fun
in the buggy it will be run on propane.
idea 1 for the truck: 402 stoker, L92 heads, upgraded valvetrain parts and fuel delivery, MAYBE a supercharger later on. unsure just how much power this could pull.. maybe near 700 or "giggle" above?
Idea 2 is same as above, but to run a trick performance turbo kit on top of the upgraded internals.
idea 3 for truck : stock bottom end, do a cam and valvetrain upgrade, use the l92 heads, lager throttle body and air intake.. this combo has already been realiably proven at 550-580 tq/hp on various builds.
or maybe even just build the 402 stroker, l92 heads cam and valvetrain in the bugggy, using the msd box and intake from gmpp run the propane and have some fun breaking parts.
I also think doing the mild build with cam/heads and building it to take a big hit of nitrous might satisfy me too in the buggy.
I am sitting on a pile of parts but I can't see dropping the money to do big builds on both motors. One reason I am pushing for more power on the white truck is I am really considering converting it to a dually now that my bed got smashed
SAS dually on 6 michilin XLs sounds fun, but it sounds like it would dog the motor down in its current form. The dually swap would also give the big truck some more stability, not sure it needs it. This owuld also leave me with yet one more complete 6.0 to save or use, and the 454 both would be nice to set aside for a future project.
My only real goals are realiable, pump gas performance and I would love to have a motor that lays more than 500rwhp down..I am finally getting all my projects with the house knocked down and I would like to do a build on one of the motors or choose a direction so I have a plan. Seems ALOT of people get into tuning issues and roadblocks when they start playing with boost and forced induction however.
Looking some ideas or insight.
