i got a dd 1991 burb 350,4l80e and vss 205 looking for exhaust,i want to do 2.5 y pipe to cat and 3" the rest of the way out.

i dont want to sound like a mustang(nice sound but not for this truck)
wife and kids long trips so it cant be loud, just a nice rumble.

please tell me what your running

I used to be a die hard Flowmaster guy, but I have a magnaflow on the exact same exhaust as you plan and it sounds great , nice low rumble

yellowk20 can you post pics please.i dont want to run dauls will put pipe to close to the tcase for my liking

Cherry Bomb Vortex... its quieter than the Flowmaster I had by tons at idle, but it still sounds good when you get on it.

I would, but I'm at work 600 miles from home for another 3 weeks My truck is a 91 R3500

350/4L80e But my exhaust is ran down the Drivers side just like you describe it works well
and sounds very nice especially under load

I still have the original exhaust back to where the catalitic converter was. I removed all of the factory equipment from there back and replaced it with 2 2.5" glass packs welded one behind the other. Good rumble and can still have a quality conversation inside.

i love WOT my BB got 2-5 mpg not sure about the 350 it only has 3000 miles on it.i love to race the gas gauge:D.my wife loves the burb i dont want to mess that up with a loud muffler.

Like YellowK20, I'm running a 2.5 "Y" into 3" single with a Magnaflow down the driver side to the left rear. I'm real happy with it so far but I haven't had it at up fast or at WOT yet.

Im running summit welded chambered mufflers with turndowns, not bad but im gonna kick the outlet to the side because i get too much boom boom from the road.

On my ford I have a 40 series flowmaster with a 3" inlet and dual 2.5" outlets. Full 2.5" mandrel bent tail pipes. As of now its really not very loud, but for the time being I still have one of the cats on there, and they quiet the old fords down alot.

I like it if the windows are down, but with the windows up it drones like a mofo.

Ill probably switch to a magnaflow or maybe a different series flowmaster in the not too distant future.

Got a dynomax ultra flow welded on my 97, its got a healthy tone to it under acceleration. No drone really once up to speed. I highly recommend em.

running two Ford Mustang Cobra mufflers, with 2.5" duals...

yes,,, Fords... they are stamped right on the mufflers. :D

bought them from a friend as a temporary 4 year setup..:doah:

thrush welded 2 chamber. factory y pipe into 3" out the tail on drivers side.

I ran mine with dual 2.5" to a Magnaflow 3 chamber, with single 3" out. Since I don't have to worry about emissions, and Krusty didn't have a cat on her, they ran the passenger side pipe down to behind the tc, then over to the muffler. This kept the entire system up above the frame, providing a bit more protection from trail damage.

Overall I love the sound, and my buddy likes mine much more than his 2.5" duals on his 454. It is not overly loud like most flowmasters I have heard, but I need to address the drone at high speeds caused by my lack of a lockup converter.

I had headman shorties with a 2.5in y into a 3in and a 70s flowmaster.

The headmans crack almost completely around the collectors, both sides.

I went to hooker long tubes 2.5in with flowmasters. I don't know what series they are but I do not like the sound at 3/4 to WOT. It sounds like ****. :eek1:

I have spintechs, I prefer their sound over anything else

I have a '76 with a bone stock 350. Like some others, I run a 2.5" Y into a 3" single on the driver's side. It's a Flowmaster 40 series, no cat, and it's loud. Almost "can't talk in the cab" loud and definitely "annoy the neighbors" loud.

I've gotten used to it, but there's no way I'm sneaking up on anyone.
