I've got about 1000 saved to put some new parts on the rig. So I'm trying to figure out what to do next. Currently fairly stock 74 K5, turbo 300 NP203 w/part time conversation, new SS brake lines, shocks, new 33's, optima battery, 12 bolt rear. Truck runs and drives great currently, not using it for major wheeling just trips up to the mountains and camping. I was thinking about tuning up the motor and maybe working on the ignition system and fuel system. Rebuild the carb, put an electric inline fuel pump, new plugs, wires, cap and rotor? Any thoughts? Please keep in mind I don't have a massive garage or a ton of tools to get in all weekend overhauls, so TBI and axle swaps are out. Thanks :waytogo:

HEI without a doubt.

I went with the MSD streetfire model and it has been by far the best upgrade I have done to my 74 Jimmy.

And the good thing is you will still have enough money left over to have your carb rebuilt and to get a new set of wires and plugs.

Get a

Winch! Worth it's weight in gold when you eventually get stuck. Seen some pretty reasonable ones lately. Plus it just makes any truck look cooler:D

Sorry turbo 350 trans. I was maybe thinking some more survival stuff or trail helping equipment on board air, CB, ect too. I was thinking about the HEI that will probably be a go. Cool thanks for the input.
