What other parts for 4" lift??

Im looking at Deaver Springs and they lowest they come is 4" lift.Ive got extended SS brake lines, but is there anything else needed or can I just go. Ive got 2" lift now with no issues. I plan to run 35"s in the far future but running 33s now.
 
yeah, steering stuff... depends on what you've got... 1/2 or light dudty 3/4 ton you'd be able to get away with a drop steering arm... or pitman arm would work... 1 ton (D60 stuff) you'll need a draglink or steering block, but i've heard bad news about those...

i'm going through the same stuff right now...

Deaver will make any size lift spring you want. 4" is not the smallest. Call their shop in Santa Ana, CA and ask for Jeff Deaver. Nice and very helpful guy. Like said above, a drop pitman or raised steering arm.

Edit: To do it the right way, Jeff will want you to load down your rig with everything you carry while wheeling including a full tank of fuel and have you take your fully loaded rig to the scales and have the front and then the back of your rig weighed. They will take the weights you give them and custom make the springs to the proper spring rate for your particular setup.

When I spoke to Jeff at Deaver about a year ago they would have been cusotm tailored to my vehicle weight and specs and I believe about an 11 leaf pack. He was at about $700/pair. Fairly high but you would have a hard time finding a better custom spring.

Wow so that's 1400$ for all of them. I hope they are awesome springs
 
Any race team in the Southwest or Baja that runs leafs: There is a very good chance that they run Deavers. Most of the prerunner guys will run deavers in the rear of the 'runners. Most of us may not need them on our 25-35 year old junk but we are also not doing 100mph across the desert either.
 
Shocks too..

Don't just go to the parts place and get shocks for a 4" lifted Chevy.. measure your travel. The 4" lift shocks I bought have only 2" of downward travel before bottoming out :doah:
 
Well, the 4x4 shop said that we have to get the leafs first and then can sort out the shocks for travel.

What about the TC/Tranny, will they need to be dropped or can there be some kind of slipyoke elimantor kit or what else would I need to do or could do in this area.

Also who sells dropped pitman arms that are of high quality?

i paid $580 for 4 inch springs all around, shipped to my door... plus it came with shocks (they're good 'nuff for now) and mounting hardware... i'm happy with the kit, 'cept for the brake-line drop brackets - they won't work with Heavy Duty brake lines... so i gotta get my extended lines... just waiting on Uncle Sam to give me my tax money back...!
 
A 4" lift may fall under the category of, "you get what you pay for." You may want to talk to the people at offroaddesign.com (also a site sponsor) for everything you need and at a happy medium of sorts for pricing. Two more things you may want to consider are Swaybar Disconnects (also at ORD) and axle shims to true up your driveline angles ( http://jkwoffroad.com/offroadproducts.php ).
