found this in a pile of TBI parts from the first time i started messing with engine #2...

this a factory big block part? its got water passages so it will stay warm... looks like TBI to spread bore carb intake, but i thought i remembered pulling this off a truck that should have been factory TBI on a 7.4???

hell i cant remember any more.

what part 1.jpg

what part 2.jpg

trying to remember why i have it- practical application adapting a TBI unit to a carb intake? 383 with a bored out TBI (or possibly tbi from a 7.4), or is this strictly Big Block only?

It should bolt onto any spread bore intake, so a swap would be easy with that.

HEY!!! Don't forget about the '87!!!
Not that all were TBI, apparently there were Q-jet 454 trucks built still until late '88.

You could get a high GVW R/V30 with a carbureted 454 from 1987-1989.

This adapter was used from 1987-1990 I believe. GM did not make a TBI intake manifold for the Mark IV big block.

This is correct. TBI 454's used the old Quadrajet manifold with an adapter through the 1990 model year. The '91 GenV 454 brought on the TBI-specific manifold. They interchange too, in case anyone is wondering.

However I'm unsure of the medium duty trucks. Were there TBI 366's and 427's before '91?
