I'd like to know too, I'm told theres ones that fit right in and bolt to the factory Y pipe. I'd like to do just that

I used a set of Shorty headers from a Chevelle on my 85 2wd, and redid the whole exhaust, but that was my plan. The headers fit, the shift linkage rubbed a little, but I just bent it out a bit.

I'm using shorties for the 88-95 truck but you have to grind a very small amount on the drivers side frame rail and relocate the 02 sensor into the pipe just below the collector instead of in the header. Been using these for many years now without any issues.

Yes 4X4High is correct, I had to grind a little off my drivers side frame rail also.

i just ordered a pair of these myself can't wait to put them in!

I've been told good things about JBA headers. I haven't looked into getting them yet but will once I'm ready. They are supposed to be well built and long lasting, which is what I need for my daily driver, winter warrior K5 :D

I took Scott's recommendation, and haven't had any issues. When I plugged the o2 port, I ground the plug Way down, and was able to end up with close to 1/4" of clearance without grinding the frame rail at all.
