what should i do

i have a 87 k5 and the end piece on the knockdown cable snapped off, is there anyway i can fix just that little piece or do i have to buy a whole new cable, and can i drive the truck with that not hooked up

I believe that they sell a replacement end in the "Help!" section at the auto parts stores.

It will not shift properly without that cable. A new on is is about $10.00.
