What size gap?

I need to change my spark plugs and wires tomorrow. What size gap should I make the plugs? the ignition is stock.. not big mods on the truck (yet). I figure .45 or less?

When you buy the plugs ask them there. It varies between different plugs and engines.

When a bought a set of Champions I think the gap was .035" but, yes it does vary on the manufacturer.

Man that seems off unless you have like a MSD in there or something... I gap mine at .35 to .40... it seems that gap at .60 is too wide and will be too hot to work right correct?

How can I miss you if you won't go away?

When GM first started using HEI they went way overboard on gap, then dropped it way back down the year afterwards or so. Olds ran .060 up until the very end, and since its the same HEI system, unless the electrode hits, you *could* run that gap on a Chev too. (but run what the factory recommends)
