what size is the fuel return hose?

saw in a magazine once they didnt use the "gm" part for the fuel return hoses on the injector, they used bulk hose from a parts store. without having to go out and look myself (i have my kids with me), what size hose do i need? thanks.

They sell a kit with the bulk hose, injector washers, hose clamps and caps for the back of the motor for $31

I found and bought 1/8 fuel line hose and it seemed to fit OK.

I tried 1/8 line and had constant leaks...

Was the 1/8 stuff you bought the thin wall stuff..which I think is for window shield washers..or the fatter neoprene stuff? My parts guy is pretty good and he head never heard of metric hose...Heck.. if its not 1/8th what is it?

lol... you don't see metric hose in the auto parts store very often, but there is plenty of it out there. What do you think all the foriegn cars use? We use it all the time at work for air lines and a million other aplications. Plenty of vendors in the USA selling it.

I've never measured the line on the 6.2L but finding a good fitting return line hose from a local parts house has been impossible for me.

how about...

One guys truck I worked on had Tygon fuel line from a chain saw on its return lines!...he said it was all he could find that fit tight,and he's as yet unsure how well it stands up to diesel fuel,but has been on his truck about a year with no trouble yet...someone else suggested VW diesels use the same size hoses,but I'm not sure how true that is..
