I've searched and searched, and asked the experts at my local autozone and I cannot determine what size of pronged spindle nut socket to use on my axles.

87 Jimmy with factory 10 bolt front axle and warn manual hubs.

Autozone had several on the shelf but their largest 6 prong was too small at 2-3/5" (weird measurement)

I am stuck at a relatively simple bearing swap because I don't know what size tool to ask for when I'm calling around

I THINK I'm looking for a 2-5/8" but I'd love it if someone could confirm

I dont know the size, but its a 4 prong socket, look for one that says for Dana 44/Half ton fords. It it has a wider diameter at the bottom end and the prongs are on the inside of the ring. Dana 44 and GM 10 bolts use the same spindle nuts.

As in the other thread, most D44/10b's have a four-pin nut.

Apparently some 10b's use a six-pin which is a weird size, but have the aforementioned key with a threaded hole. The theory then was that this was a CUCV thing, i.e. the military Blazer, but if yours is civvy, it may just be that some are different, thank you GM. :doah:
