what size tires do you guys recommend running with 11" of lift? i go muddin mostly but do go in the trails alot, i dont do much rock crawling.
i was looking at the 39.5x18x16.5 boggers. ive always like the boggers for were i go.
thanks,
matt

what kind of vehicle do you have??? what size motor??? what gears??? what size axles??? 39.5 boggers are great in the mud but you have to have all the right things to run 'em and not break anything....

oh sorry. its a 1981 GMC k2500 long bed with a built 400 small block, t400/208, 3/4 ton axles, 410 gears. soon to be 456's

11" of lift.....you could run 54" Boggers if you wanted. Several people, including myself, run 39.5's Swampers with 4" of lift and some fender trimming so it would be very easy to fit 39.5's with 11" of lift.

A 10-bolt or D44 front axle is marginal with that much tire, though mud trucks have a easier time getting away with it.

Also, IMHO going from 4.10 to 4.56 is pretty much a waste of time and money because there is such a small difference.

:bow:boggers are the answer to all questions....:bow:

I personally run 44 boggers with the same axles and 13" of lift. i do mostly mud. 39.5's should do ok with your gearing/axles, but with big boggers, expect broken front axleshafts. 10 bolt/D44's will break even with 35's. I run a 10 bolt, i just bring spare shafts.

If you decide to run 39.5's, invest in a D60 front instead of re gearing your axles. A D60 with 4.10's is going to give you more fun on the trail then a 3/4 ton front with 4.56's and broken parts.

i'd be paying attention to your slipshaft angle on your 208 in the rear. i first built my truck with a turbo 400/208 and 10" springs. I even had my rear axle rolled. First time out i snapped the Tcase around the adapter at the bottom. I determined that with that lift, the rear driveline was pushing up on the 208 instead of sliding into it.
