So I have a surplus amount of aluminized tube sitting here. Thin wall and I think like 1 or 1.25 inch diamater. Im thinking about using it for my rear radiator and of corse have rubber on the engine/radiator ends. Ive been trying to think in my mind why small diamater tube like this wont work and I cant come up with one, except mabye cavitation but I dont think it flows that fast correct?

If anyone is wondering what this tube came from, this was orginally a large dog pen :thumb:

This buggy is all 1.75 DOM .12 wall. And the coolant runs through the upper "frame rails" back to the rad. It works. And thats a LONG ways.

so that 1.5 id correct? Thats still larger than mine, I see people running that size frequently. I just dont see if a convenionce thing or there is a reason.

Whats the id of the water pump and waterneck?

Only issue with smaller would be pushing less fluid. I know he has a 1.5" .120 wall slug in that system somewere and it works fine. That would come out to 1.25ish id.

Went out to the shop and did some measuring.

My tube is 1.25 od with a 1.20 ID, like I said thin.
Termostat housing is 1.34 (or some where close)
water pump is 1.40

So all fairly close.

Thats sooo close... If you got it, run it. You willl know if it needs to be changed.

Plus all that aluminum tube will disperse heat really well too :waytogo:

I have 1.5" .120 wall tubing for my water pipes. Several thousand race miles says it's fine.
