I need to fab a new cross member for my 400 and atlas. What size tubing would be best for it. I'm thinking 1.5" but thought I would get some more input.

1.5" .120 should be fine. I would say wall thickness is more important than diameter, but Im no metallurgist or anything :waytogo:

I'd say 1.5 .120 would be ideal... allows for a pretty tight radius where needed/wanted...

Thanks everyone!

chevysmithz71 - If I'm looking at it correctly, your atlas is clocked flat..? Did you have to do any body mods or big body lift? I'd have to have about a 3" body lift or cut a hole in the floor to clock mine flat.

I went a couple places today looking for tubing today and when I asked if they had DOM they acted like it was hard to find. I don't think anyone in okc has it. Ideas?

I used 2" .120 round (square would have worked just as well here) because when mounted under the frame, it hung at the same level as where the frame itself drops down to 2' further back, giving a flat/level belly.
