Have a 1974 Chevy shortbed with a 454 with comp cams K11-242-3(http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-K11-242-3/), air gap intake, Holley 770 truck advenger carb, TH 350 tranny, 203 t-case, 3.73 gears in the axles and 36" tires. This truck is used for mud drags and need a better launch. It is great at the end of the run but lacks at the begining. What stall converter do you recondmend?

Do you ever drive it on the street? If so, how much?

After looking at your cruising rpm (2265 @ 65mph), i wouldn't put more than 1800~2000 converter in it if you drive it on the street. Even a 2000 converter may build up a lot of heat driving 40 to 50 mph.

If its trailered and race only then I'd get something like a loose 3500. I would also be using low range.

Dammit, I want to watch the video but my iPhone won't play it. :(
