OK, so it wasn't a cat that dragged this home, it was me, but a back hoe did move it out of my truck to the top of the crate!

Got this off my friends brother-in-law for free. Probably selling my d44 to his kid too, which will pay for a good chunk of my rebuild parts.

With a little clean up, hopefully she'll be fine.

It is out of a dodge, but from what I've read, its close enough to a bolt-in, specially since it was (did I mention this earlier?) FREE.

I have the same exact axle, srw with drive flanges. The pad spacing is 1/2" different on each side, if you search here and pirate there is tons of info on this.

What gear ratio does it have?

4.10's, I'll be swapping in 5.13s along with the rear. I've found all kinds of info on this axle, I had no worries about using it when I picked it up.

that is pretty weird, my axle is less rusty on the outside, and it was under a dodge 3/4 that had a plow frame on it.

although...popped the cover on mine and  gears covered in rust.

They are close enough to bolt in but you SHOULD cut your front spring bushing 1/4" on each side and move the springs the 1/4" (inboard I believe) to get it to match exactly. I helped az-k5 install a dodge D60 in his K5 and he installed it without moving the springs first. It rode rough and didn't flex that well. The springs pushed in even that little amount can cause binding. He moved them the 1/4" per side and it rode and flexed much better. Just a word of advice.

You will need a Chevy D60 pinion yoke to match your driveshaft and you will want to swap to crossover steering when you swap the axle in place. It is worth it and is a pretty easy swap.

I have crossover on my current d44, the d60 will be part of a much larger swap, including 52s, crossover, lockers front and rear, new gears front and rear. I'm prepared to drop some coin on it all, I know it's going to take it. Thanks for the tip on cutting bushings to move the leafsprings in a hair, never thought of that, I was just going to cockeye them.

crusty 60. nice. i just scored a drw one from a chevy cab chassie for 60 a few weeks ago. i saved it from the crusher. :D

Nice score, I just got mine this past weekend also.
