What the...glow plugs not coming on?

Yep. Working perfectly.

Now where's my coolant going?

Leaky radiator like I have, but so slow that it evaporates before it hits the ground so you don't know it is leaking? Or Leaking crossover pipe draining it into the valley and again evaporation hiding the evidence? I have both of these problems.

You're not loosing coolant and gaining oil, are you :eek1: :doah:
No, loose both. I have oil all over the bottom of the engine so nope, not going there.

I'm kinda wondering as yesterday at lunch I drove over to Walmart (maybe 4 miles from work) and went inside for about 15 minutes. Came back (ironically enough with a jug of coolant and some oil) and discovered a 8" wide spot of fresh coolant under the d-side front. Friggin' upper radiator hose was leaking slightly.
Not knowing what else to do I loosened the hose clamp, pushed the thing forward hard, and tightened it back up. Hasn't leaked since from that spot. Was dry by the time I got back to work (got it up to temp as I ran over to Sonic) and no sign of leaks since then. Crossing my fingers this was it.

I do have something in the valley but I suspect it's the IP leaking...:doah:

Mine too. From the left side where the throttle shaft goes into the pump. It leaves a puddle under the truck on startup on cold days until it warms up and the seal expands. I found a rebuild kit for $45, but want to get a second pump to rebuild so I can jsut swap the rebuild in with the least amount of down time.

Mine wasn't doing this in the fall so I'm curious as to what it really is. Need to do a bit more diagnosing before I start pointing fingers.

Well, I can't comment on the coolant or leaking diesel but I will say the glow plug controller seems to be fixed. Works perfectly now!

Thanks to everyone who's helped along the way.:waytogo::saweet:

Nice feeling not having to get out in the middle of the driving rain to wiggle four little wires to get your truck to start every 3rd attempt or so.

I understand. I have a charging or battery issue that causes mine to not start after sitting for more than 24 hours, if it dropps below 45*, , for no reason in the middle of the day, if it is just plain pissed at me for not wheeling her, etc, etc.

Yeah, I hear you.

Did wheel mine for about 4 minutes on Saturday...even got stuck...then put it in 4x4 and idled out of it.
