what the heck is this?

Looks like a home made drop transfer case. The case mounts vertical so when you see those stupid trucks gone wild they can have usable driveshaft angles.

X2 looks like they put it in 4-low and pulled the shift rails, made an adapter to mount it so it runs on the bottom outputs.

Yeah I can see that but how is this possible? Look at the rear. Looks like another rear fixed yoke output shaft bolted in place of that big round cover behind the front output shaft. Didn't know you could do this.

Its designed to run trucks that have massive lifts. Like was said earlier Trucks Gone Wild. My cousin is working the bugs out of his now. Except instead of the blank yolk on top, I usually see a output brake there. It does work, I mean there is no other way to build these trucks to have a decent driveline angle than what you see. Except lowering the t-case, and as we deal with on ours, thats not ideal either.

Its ingenuity at its finest if you ask me. Come up on a problem and solve it best way you can figure. These trucks arnt designed to do anything else but what you see in his picture. Just like ours, not the best tool for any certain job, but a great thing to watch. Only way you can not atleast appreciate TGW is to have never seen it in person. Do I think they are an intelligent way to spend your money, not exactly, but they are neat, and they have alot of thought and time in them, just like ours.

EDIT. I also think they lose the ability to shift the t-case between LOW and HIGH as well. Its stuck in LOW if I remember right.

looks like it would run rockwell monster truck axles pretty good.the top output could run a pto.dont know why it has a yolk on it except to seal the shaft in there.looks like it is stuck in either high or low and left that way with no shift shafts.pretty cool stuff.9 inch drop would help alot with most of those trucks having huge lifts or stacked frames.
