Can't keep a front shaft in..... Everytime I get on it a little the front shaft either tears the straps slap off or completely tears the ears off the shaft.. Or twist a double cardan in half..... What in the heck is up???? These are square shafts and tube... Little info on setup ..... 5.7 vortec with chip, Atlas 5.0:1 with 32 spline outputs front and rear, one tons, 4:10's, 39.5 boggers.... 4L60E.... 99 tahoe 4 door, No doors at all front, rear or barn doors...... on front shaft I'm even running Tom Woods super Flex u joint..

do you have spring wrap in the front? I had the same issue a couple years ago and it drove me nuts. The axle was wrapping enough to cause it to bind.

Nope.. but was looking at it earlier and it verywell could be because of the amount of flex in the front but come to think of it I do have a custom revolver shackle that could ver well be allowing it to kick down..... I think I'm goin to add some limiting straps to see how that helps.. Man It's driving me freakin nutz.......:angry1:

whatcha mean what's up with them? :D Stripped the studs out in the D60, so I fixed the problem with a ubolt kit. And yes this is the front..

Ran them for three years with no problem... Got on it hard has heck about two months ago.... Well lets just say the boggers grabbed and Atlas didn't give..... Was surprised that the shafts didn't go... The lincoln lock held though.. Got new gears in now.. The gears are good.. Carried the front tires two foot off the ground for about 4 foot yesterday after the front shaft went... wasn't leaving my truck at the bottom of the hill so I came up it in 2 low.. the gears held great.. front shaft's the only problem:D

Do you have pics of your revolver set up in the front?

If they are indeed on the front I think you found your problem

Was looking at the hangers and shackles yesterday and I'm going to move them back and stand them up more but that's going to through the pinion down a good bit so I've got to get some shims. I was running 7* shims but when the studs stipped out at Gray Rock the Pass. side lower shattered. So got to get one anyway.

This is all that I have at the moment.. It'll be this weekend before I can get another...

sure looks like you have too much extension o the rear of the spring, and it's binding the joint. need to limit it, turn up the pinion or both. how does the pinion sit at ride height?

That shackle in the front is a no no, yes it may be a ramp champ but are you building a wheeler or a flex out toy? I would ditch them.
