Well I need to rebuild my flat bed and I assume it will be expensive so I need to start planning now.
I intend to use 3x5 .188(3/16) for the outer rails, ie both sides and the front, the same but .250 (1/4) for the rear. I am going to use 2x4 .120 wall for the supports that run under the flat bed, these will also be gusseted to the main frame rails of the flat bed with .188 plate. Not sure how long I will make the flatbed yet so I don't know how many supports there will be.
I want it too last, that is why I am using rec. tubing instead of channel.
The most weight it will carry will be a jeep which will put my truck right at it GVWR.
So am I backwards here do I need to use thinner stuff on the outside and the thicker stuff for the supports or does this sound good?
Do my plans sound good
