I have a 1973 GMC Jimmy with a stock 350 in it. I have extra money from buying the truck and i was wondering if any of you would like to make suggestions on what i should do first. I have talked to some people already and they say that maybe headers would be good and some other things, but i decided to go to the people that know and that is you so please help me out.

Why don't you work on the intake and exhaust to free up some horsepower. Like an aluminum intake and maybe a new carb and then some headers. If thats too much money, I'd say do the headers first and think about upgrading to an HEI ignition to get rid of your points set up that you probably still have on your '73. Oh yea...Flowmaster mufflers are also an excellent idea.

Chevy good...Ford bad

Welcome dude. Man, there is a lot you could do. Too long to imagine. I don't think I will ever be done with my project (75' Blazer). To start, Headers don't sound like a bad idea. Suspension lift is always good too. Summer is coming, so why not a soft top. Or a dual exhaust system. Spray on Bedliner is key for the full convertibles. Dude, the list goes on and on. But you got a great truck. Good year too, full convertible. My advice is to start with the easy mods first to get experience and then move on. Good luck
