My horrid "jake brake" which use to only happen when you were at 1/2 throttle, is now happening EVERY time you let off the gas, use to be if you let off completely, no noise, well folks, now 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear do it ( I don't use 1st )...so here's the deal

I know there is a dent in it, It's obviously spinning incorrectly, wobbling if you will, so do I have to go get a new one- do they even sell new ones? do I have to go to a junk yard..exactly what am I suppose to do to get one?

Having never had to replace anything other than normal stuff brakes, radiator etc.. I'm at a loss.

There is a company here called "custom driveshafts", and I'm thinking of going down there and asking them WTF this noise is from, but being I know nothing about this part of the truck, they COULD take me for a ride $$ ..

Any help is appreciated- oh and it's not my u-joints, they are new.

thanks

so Wayne, your saying until I fix my driveshaft, I'm going to be going through U-Joints ???

I'm paranoid to drive it now, this along with the exhaust problem is really starting to P*ss me off, not to mention John, since he hears be bitching about it all the time.....his words this morning.

Sell it, and we'll get a '03 suburban..

ha if it were only that simple!

Yeah, sounds like you need a "re-tube". Any driveshaft shop can do that. Shafts that are bent or out of ballance will wear things out quickly...
