what to do??

alright so i can get 2 d60's and a 14bff for 600 but the guy tells me i can just put a locker in my 12 bolt with 36's and itd be too much of a hassle to run the 1 tons. i know the axle deal sounds better because i can pay that same amount for a locker for the 12. i know the 12 is a pretty strong axle. this is in my 81 k5 which will be a daily driver most of the time. what do you guys think?

I would buy the 1 tons and swap them in. A 12 bolt isn't really "strong" when connected to 36's. Besides, a Dana 60 in good working condition is worth at least $1,000.
