I am in a bind trying to figure out what to do with my 86 k5. I have invested a large amount on money into it for the past ten years (almost $28000). It has a built 97 vortec 350, built 700r4 tranny, ord suspension, agr and flaming rivers steering, brand new 35" bfg mud terrains, tube bumpers and nerf bars, can-bak soft top, and many many new parts. There is not a sytem i haven't gone through. The problem is I changed gears in the stock axles and wound up blowing the rearend. Now I'm a homeowner and have a baby on the way. I can't afford to fix it. So, do I let it sit in my garage forever or do I try to sell it?

IMHO
Don't sell it. You know you will never get your money out of it and there will be a day when you are ready to get back into it. Plus, it's not costing you anything to keep it.

Imho
Don't Sell It. You Know You Will Never Get Your Money Out Of It And There Will Be A Day When You Are Ready To Get Back Into It. Plus, It's Not Costing You Anything To Keep It.

yes let it sit. You never know what will happen in a month or 6 months.
And as others have said, you wont ever get what you have in it.

X2! If need be get it registered as Non-Op for now. Many of us are homeowners with small children a I personally have had to take a break from working on the blazer because of money and time issues with our house and little boy too as many of us have. Now that my son is 5 years old he loves to take rides with me in it. Keep it and let it sit for the next couple of years and if you find that you really have no time and money then sell it. Unless you absolutely need the money now then keep it.
