I am in the market for a Dana 60 for my p/u truck. In looking at them, what are some key things to identify? I don't know much about the kingpin setup on these and want to make sure if I pay top dollar I won't have to do too much rebuilding...or if rebuilding is in order, I don't want to pay too much.

Look for pictures of them. And expect to pay around $1000 for one as-is, rebuilder or not.

find an all stock one out of a running truck if you can. Single rear wheel (non dually)are the most desirable. Pull the cover and make sure there is oil inside and not water.

Does the kingpin work the same way as normal ball joints (i.e. wiggle the spindle up & down its bad)? Anyone have pictures of a stripped down one that is easy to identify the different components on? Thanks for the help!
