Many guys just use a peice of "C" channel with 1/2" plate "hinges" with
1-1/4" pins...similar to the peice bolted to a truck for the snowplow to pin into, only facing upwards..
I'm thinking of making my flatbed I mounted on a trailer frame made from a 2wd pickup chassis,a dump body, instead of being bolted solid..I was thinking of using two peices of pipe, one that slides inside the other, to make a "hinge",and mount the outboard ends of the "inner" pipe by welding and bolting it to the top lip of the frame rails, after cutting a notch out of the pipe so it would sit flat on the frame on each side..then weld the other pipe to the bed..
There is a lot of ways to do this..I'm sure others will post photos of their dump bodies to help you out..I'd like to see some too!..
