I know it sounds like a stupid question. but are you supposed to turn your transmission clockwise or counter clockwise and if you turn the wrong way does it mess anything up. just so you know i just bought a th350 and put a new torque converter on it and i turned the transmission when i did. then i went to finish putting in my shift kit and i noticed the range selector wouldnt lock into any gears when i know it did before i put the converter on. any body got any ideas?

This probably isn't related to the installation of the torque converter. It should be OK to turn it in either direction by hand. If you put in a shift kit, you probably pulled the valve body and when you did, you must have messed up the little mechanism that locks the range selector into the positions.
