At work don't have my K5 with me. Got singal shocks up front. Don't want to forget a tool at work so I'm asking.... What ratchets/sockets do I need for my 91?

Thanks

You may need a variety of sizes of sockets--most shocks had 1/2" bolts with 3/4" hex heads and nuts, but sometimes the nuts will be thicker and larger wrench sizes..

Been a long time since I took shocks off,I seem to recall the upper shock mount having a 15/16" nut to secure it to the frame, and a smaller nut on the shock side--you might be able to leave the stud or mount in place and not have to deal with removing it,some shocks come with it though, and require you use the one they supply--I used a long 1/2" drive breaker bar to loosen the stud mount ,and have had to use a pipe wrench to hold it from spinning from the outer side..

An air impact is nice for shock removal & installs..

For shocks, it should be a 5/8" on the bolt head and 11/16" on the nut, if the hardware is factory. Dunno if dual shocks effects that.

~edit~
Correction, shocks are 3/4" socket/wrench for both nut and bolt. I got mixed up with motor and frame brackets. Those are different size for nut and bolt.

Bring home a standard socket and wrench set...

I never understood how people can tear into something and only have exactly what they think they'll need.

Grandpa always said, grab the size you think it is, and then the 2 sizes up and down from that.

Thanks for the help guys. Just primarily wanted to know if hardware was english vs metric. Hate transporting tools back and forth from work. He'll let's face it after tonight's shift at work I'm hardly in the mood to wrench on anything.
