what transfer case comes stock in the 87 k5

87 k5 w/. 700r4 ,
is the np208 the stock transfercase?? do i need to look and if no markings how do i tell?/

Should be a 208. I dont htink they went to the 241 until 89...


Look on the back of the t-case toward the middle. There will be a small round metal/aluminum tag held on by a screw/rivet in the middle. That tag will have the model number on it.

Most likely an NP208 as far as I know they didn't start to use 241's till 89 or so if you are really having trouble finding the specs try www.chuckschevypages.com he has all the factory specs but i'm pretty sure ck5 does too lol.
