what transfer case

i just took my 465-205 out of my truck,for a automatic,a guy i know has a 84 suburban,three quarter ton,wants to sell me the trans and transfercase,but he dont know what year it is,he lives two hours from me,so does anybody know what transfercase it has,it has a 350 engine,he thinks it's a turbo 400 transmission though,so what transfercase is it,thanks,anybody need a 465-205 setup

if its an 84 then it should have a NP208 aluminum chain drive case

Think he meant he didn't know what year the trans and trans case were..

I'd go with the 208 also. Not a bad transfer case IMO

what do you think about the strength of this case,it'll have to do for now,til i find a 400-205 setup

Its a decent t-case, just make sure you have a skid plate. What size tire are you running and what engine(hp)?

its a 1980 k10,350 engine,37'' swampers,no bed,no doors,just a cab and a cage

I think it'll have no problem surviving but i may be wrong

thanks,soon as i sell the others,465-205,then we'll start the search for auto-205,out here theyre a pain to find,back in bolivar,mo,they were a little easier to find

So you took another 465-205 out of Missouri?? shame on you

what year is your 465? it might be a 32 spline output. does it have a hydraulic clutch? if it is you only need a th400 np205 adapter.
