What transmission?

I have recently bought '86 chevy 6.2. Since i'm from EU dont know about much ''your'' stuff . I intend of buying 700r4, now here comes my problem. Saw couple of them on ebay but sellers dont know will it fit above mentioned engine. So guys do you know what or where should i look or what to tell the seller where to look or something.

If the transmission was installed behind a gas engine it will bolt behind the 6.2. There is a guy here in the For Sale area that has a 700R4 that was recently rebuilt. It is a good price, and it would work for you. You will need to use a diesel converter. I believe, but I'm not certain, that 700R4 did come behind 6.2L. So you would need a converter for that application.

Also try searching the forums. If you input the words "diesel", "gas", and "trans*" you should get some good info that will help you.
