Just put an lq9 in my 1990 k5. Noticed that the exhaust manifolds won't work. Needing to know what headers should I go with or what will fit without having to cut or notch the frame.

i used stock 5.3 manifolds in my 2wd build . had to bolt engine in place then set manifolds in and bolt up .

then took down pipes and reworked them for the new outlets to the exhaust .

pics in my 2 wheel burn link below in sig line. ( need to be paid member to see tho )

there is a few headers for these swaps . lots of guys I read are doing o.k. with 88-98 truck ls swap headers . there is 1-2 others that have built for our trucks headers for this swap . but I have not researched it a lot to recall the names sorry .

If you are willing to spend the money, Doug Thorley Tri Y's are awesome. No clearance issues, quality, and look terrific since they are ceramic coated.

I second that. I just put a pair of Doug's on the 454. Fit right in - I didn't have to re-work a single thing!
