Just as it says I know all the other dimensions just not the diameter of the u bolt. I would search but at work and away from my truck.

on my 79 chevy long bed i went 5/8 thick with all the u-bolts but the one on the danna 44 front axle needs to be 10" long the other 7 can be with in 8" it all works good.

a friend used 9/16 thick bolt on his 1 ton swap under his K5!

I'm pretty sure ALL the u-bolts on chevy trucks are 5/8" diameter.

Yes 5/8 looks a lot better raped around the axle and 5/8 is the biggest bolt to fit in the plate on top the springs!

I bought a 78 chevy longbed on 40" with 4" spring lift and 4" blocks on all 4 coners. so i took the 4" block out and left the spring lift on. Oh and 40" are still on the truck.

So is that a no go on the 9/16.

not sure of the question? but th 5/8 bolts fit the plate perfect no chance of slop from the bolt to plate. and to think stock u-bolt or just the right space on the inside to inside measurement just big enough to fit around the axle. you would leave any room for slop there so why use a smaller bolt? JMO...

never seen a single chevy truck come with anything bigger than 9/16" from the factory.

So ur saying i might have a after market plate on top of my springs to hold it all down? i hate to see the price on those! for the looks of the lift on the truck these guy didnt spen any money but on the bocks there self.

dont know man like early a club member told me his stock blazer had 9/16 thick bolts but my 79 longbed looks like 5/8 is stock both 1/2 ton. his blazer is a early 70's also

I'm pretty sure you'd have no trouble getting a 5/8" ubolt through a factory plate, if it was originally equipped with a 9/16" bolt. The factory left alot of tolerance.

Factory plates look kinda like a "W" shape in the rear and a casting in the front if memory serves.

One tons may have been bigger. Been a while but fairly certain, all the 1/2's and 3/4's i've been under were a 9/16".

On that note, I wouldn't hesitate to upgrade to 5/8".
