what would cause gas in your oil???

bad fuel pump
carb fuel float or needle seat problem
bad rings wouldnt do much cept cause more oil to be burnt and low compression problem

ive had a few engines with bad fuel pump, the worst case was in a 67 dually c-30 truck i picked up for a few hundred with a 70s 250 straight six in it and the fuel pump was internally leaking and i was trying to get it to fire up, well when i got it to fire up the engine was so full of raw fuel that gas came out of the valve cover hose, and it was not just a little bit@!

completely washed the entire engine inside out,

it did run good, but after i sold the truck a few months later i was told that the engine got blown up

havnet seen the truck since, im sure it was scrapped

it ran drove great, should have kept that truck too... i miss the old SM420 and the 5.13 dually axle, all it needed was a 350 or 400 engine and some nice dual pipes and a wrecker body stuck on it,

good luck

How big is your AFB (as in CFM). I tried to get by w/ running a jetted down Edelbrock 750 on a brand new Goodwrench 350 (I was planning on running a bigger cam)-- after a month or so of flooding out and splattering everything that got near the exhaust with black soot, I slapped on an Edelbrock 600 and she cleaned right up.
