truck is all stock drivetrain. 33" tires. 6.2 doe this happen a lot? have it out hope to have a welder fix it this weekend. anyway to make it stronger? thanks

Drive-train or chassis flex. You could aslo have worn engine and/or transmission mounts.
Did the 465/208 combos come with the support rod that runs down from the bell housing to the transfer case?
That could be a good thing to have.

could be from loose bolts on the bell to the engine.i had it happen once.everytime you gas it it torques the trans and can brake the bell.if it is cast bell make sure you get it done correct.or it will break again real quick.might be easier to get anether one if it breaks again after welding it.

Get it welded professionally. Hydro bell housings arent cheap and their worth the $50 at a shop to have it TIG'd.

Also the cracking could be caused by a binding in the clutch mechanism. Hydraulic force could easily over come cast strength.

no support rod. crack is on the side where the hydro parts are. goes right up the side. anyway to brace it make it stronger ?

Poly mounts will take some of the torsional forces out of the drivetrain. Like I told you on the phone just remember if you do the trans the motor has to be done too.

I would recommend getting some fabricators DOM sleeves with poly bushings from kurt or ballistic fab. Forget getting a stock poly replacement.

Make a cross member, hard mount it to the trans and make it couple to the frame with a bushing. You could also add a support leg by building a brace off the PTO covers.

O yeah and put a ****ing rod in LOL

Something is either too loose or your mounts are too solidly mounted. If you broke it once you will probably break it again if you don't fix the root of the problem. My guess is your motor mounts are shot and your trans mount is still nice and snug. You do not want a trans mount stiffer than your motor mounts. It's not designed to take that torque.

On a seperate note, you could get a JW ultrabell on it if you want to make it stronger. But if your truck is mostly stock it's a bandaid for the real problem, because you don't have the power to need an ultrabell.
