I have a 97 1500 2 wd that has been sitting for 4 or 5 years, after the ex wrecked it, and had not been paying for insurence.

I would like to do a sas on it and run 35x12.50x16 on it when i'm done.
It was a great truck when it ran. I'm going to pull the engine and overhaul it. The trans (4l60E) has only 1500 miles on it when wrecked, so i will take it and have it gone thru and the tailshaft changed. Not sure on the transfercase yet as I don't know if I am going pass or driver drop dana 60. The rear will be changed to a 14ff.

There is little to no rust, just surface rust on the frame, so it is solid and ready to play with.

Any ideas would be great, Thanks:D

Four Wheeler or 4-Wheel & Off-Road did an article on this a few years ago. Took a 2wd and SAS'd it. ORU makes the parts to do it with the 2wd's but that just means others make it cheaper.

2wd solid axle swap kit. = 3" lift. then 4" springs.

drivers or pass drop axle dont matter. then divorced tcase it to match with a 205 .

bolt it all on and go. then 35" will be fine or 37" prob fit to.

Cool, I really loved that truck when it was running. I was going to take out the motor and put it in my Blazer, but I think I have changed my mind.

if your going to swap out the tailshafts then run the 241. but it would be easier to run the divorced 205. guess it depends on what you have laying around
