So, sometimes I look at this brown and tan and think "That's ugly." Then sometimes I think "It's just ugly enough to be perfect."

I've been thinking maybe I should paint it. Either rattle can or I can spray it with my basic HVLP gun. Not looking for perfection here just a basic one color.

My thoughts are...
White. No way. Not on my truck.
Black. Maybe. But not my #1 choice.
Camo looks good but is not for me.
Match the dark brown that is already there would be easiest.

Consider that this is a street driven trail truck and every panel already has some sort of dent or defect, what would you do and why? Feel free to pic whore if you want.

I'd keep it just the way it is man. I think it looks great! But, I'm a fan of the odd color combinations.

I would remove the top, add 2" of lift to the front to level her out and run it! I don't think the paint is that bad but something about that top just bugs me.

Good point. Maybe that top is what's bugging me. Someone brushed that color on. Got brush strokes all over it. Can't wait till it's warm out, it's coming off.

Oh, it sits pretty level. My driveway has an incline right there. Bad choice for pic...

i voted for solid brown but thats only if ur gonna paint...id say if u plan on wheelin it much @ all, leave it alone cuz ur gonna scratch it @ sum point then prolly get mad that u wasted money/time on painting it...
i started w/this and planed on a complete restore for my son

Paint the top of the cab to match the top, that will help tie it together. Otherwise, I like the paint. My parents had an '81 Suburban in the same color scheme, and I thought it was pretty neat, until dad had it painted bright red. That was cool too.

x2

That's the way mine is done. White on the rockers (below the trim) and a white top/cab. Having the cab done makes the differnce.

I'm liking the "paint the top dark brown" idea.

There's no chance for a resto on this one. I paid 1k for it. It's a beater trail truck for me.

I voted to leave it. I dig those old color schemes. Two-tones are hot.

My truck was that great 70s butternet squash yellow before it was painted orange peel black, and the yellow was way cooler.

Paint the top the same dark brown and leave the rest alone.
