what would you guys do? i have a rusty dented tail gate and the power window always went up like s*#t, until i was loading some stuff into the truck and snagged the glass and watched it break into 337,286,429 peices. then when vaccuming the glass up, i noticed that the tracks were all rusty too, so should i:

A) replace the glass and tracks
B) replace the tail gate and glass with either a new one or a used one
C) do a pick up tail gate and custom hatch conversion?

Unbolt the top and tailgate and throw them away, they are not needed, of course thats just me. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Salvage yards are good places, should be one everybodys fav. spot list. Ya never know what treasures you'll find.

But he lives in Maine, the land of perpetually salted roads. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Finding anything in a boneyard that isn't a giant pile of rust is almost impossible around there. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Dude, definately... without a doubt... this is what I am doing ... get a new tailgate!!!!! Call up some junk yards in like arizona or california.. you can get the crap cheap.. and they are rust free. Then... you buy new regulator (cheap) and get a piece of glass from a local junk yard (cheap). Clean the glass.. install into new regulator... install all components into good tailgate... and bedline the damn thing so it NEVER rusts again! /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif
.. sorry.. mine just made me angry..

Sorry guys but I would say Go with plan C.
If you ever want to remove your top when wheeling, that's a little more wheight you can shed, and it will not shatter if you twist your truck hard on the trail with the window up.
That's my experience.

"c" for me, takes a bit of thinking to figure out some stuff, but it all works out pretty nice. Pics of the swap below /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
