I'm always skeptical of any "minimal rust" claims on a 1st gen.

As you know, best to check that out thoroughly before you think about making offers. Still, if it is relatively solid and complete, I don't think $2k is a bad starting point, especially if you're itching for a 2WD.

That things way cool! Id drive the crap out of it. Id look at it, and if its not rotted anywhere, i mean floor patches are easy, carpet covers all, if the exterior is good to go i would offer 3-4. If it doesnt run, or not well, 2.
