I've done one before but can't remember what year brake components to ask for when I get the rotors,calipers/pads and caliper bolts. For some reason '75 K20 sticks in my head. I did search on here and couldnt find it lots of info on the conversion, but I just need the year. Thanks in advance.

Well it depends on if you want the emergency brake or not. That uses a set of caddy calipers

I just installed my disk conversion and I used rotors from a 75 3/4 ton. There are many years in this range that are interchangeable, but 75 is the year I use. I used the eldo calipers, but you can use the front calipers off a 75 3/4 ton, as well. For a disk bracket I ordered a set from one company and was really disappointed in the fit. I would have had to grind the bracket or the caliper. The hole for the mounting bolts was off a bit, too. I ordered DIY4X brackets and they fit perfectly and are better quality than the one I ordered first.....what a waste of money and time, but they are on and I'm happy with them. I had a hard time deciding between eldo and regular calipers, but decided to go for the eldos for the ebrake feature. Just don't have any experience with a yoke or transfer case mounted brake. Seem ok for a parking brake, but how do they work at 70 miles an hour??? Good Luck!

I was tired of piecing together all those parts myself, and went with Twisted Engineerings kit. If you are interested in the El Dorado calipers I can sell you my used ones (no springs though).

As i remember its 1974, since its a year with one rotor, caliper and pad selection to make things easier.

Ruffstuffs mounts are cheap and bolt on, worked good on my build

You will use 73-87 front 3/4 ton rotors. If your 14ff uses the smaller 11" drums then you will need new studs as well. The calipers from 73-87 will also work but there is a difference in banjo bolt sizing being either 7/16" or 10mm depending on the year. I like to use a caliper that is year specific to the vehicle they are being installed on so that the banjo bolts are ALL the same size. The year split was around 78-79 when GM phased out the 7/16" in favor of the 10mm banjo bolts. Keep in mind that even if you buy a remanned caliper at a parts store it could have the wrong caliper in the box since the banjo bolt size gets overlooked quite often (test fit a bolt to make sure it is what it is supposed to be).

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like I'll be GTG telling them '75 3/4T Rotors, calipers etc. Wont be doing the caddy calipers would rather keep everything the same with my other trucks. I used BTF brackets on the last one I did I was thinking DIY4X4 this time but I will check out the ruffstuff brackets.
