A guy is parting out a 91 3/4 ton suburban. He claims it has the 4L80E / NP241C. This would be the ideal candidate for my CUCV. Just wanna make sure that sounds right for a 91 burban.

Sweet. Fairly certain I can use one of the controllers from the early 90's diesels, to get it all to work in my truck. Correct?

I guess I should say it should have the stand alone controller. It may have been only the diesel versions that had the standalone controller.

Anyone else care to chime in on whether or not the standalone controller is only for the diesel?

From what i've heard it was only the diesel that had the stand alone ECM for the 4L80E.

Diesels are the only one to get the stand alone ECM. 7060 was the ECM that controlled it, for 350 or 454. Changed to 8396 and 427 after that IIRC.
