I have decided, after many days of turning it down, i want to go with the 203/205 doubler. I have a SM465 and NP205, its the 10 spline setup, what year and size truck do i need to look for to find the correct NP203? I dont want to have to swap out input and output shafts but if its neccesary then i guess i could do it. thanks for the help.

You need a super rare 465 to 203 adaptor that was used in one year in K5s. I think it was 74. Search Ebay, they show up on there from time to time. Make sure you get the adaptor and the input to the 203 range box at the very least.
For an idea of cost I got 145$ for the last adaptor I sold on ebay without the input. If you are savy you can get the adaptor and input for as low as 100$, that what I payed for the one I sold without the input.

I know there was a post recently documenting how WMS doesn't like to build doublers with 10 spline 203s in them. Guess they don't want their product blamed for a weak link in the system, I don't know.

Northwest Fab should be able to get you a 27 spline output for the 465, then couple that with a 465-208/241 adapter(redril and tap the 203 to that pattern) and you have an easy to locate setup. Heck I have a couple 465-208 adapters sitting around for a price. Just a thought.

The 'output' on a 465 is otherwise known as the mainshaft, and never came in 27 spline. 10, 32, or 35 (2WD). NWF does have new 10 spline input gears for 203's, and has (had last time I checked) the 465/203 adaptors.

10 spline 465 into 10 spline 203, then 32 spline into the 205. You'd still need to have the 10 spline 205 input replaced with the 32 spline input, plus the case bored to accomodate the larger input bearing.

There is no painless way to do the 465 doubler IMO.

alot easier if you have a 32 spline 465:D

he he, unless you can find a good factory 203 off a 465....:D

they are hard to find the parts for but once you get all the parts everything will be fine.

I have a 465/NP203 that I want to sell. If your interested let Me know. We're not that far apart. PM Me for details.

Hey,
PM or Email me...
I might be interested in this set up...

In 6 weeks we will have a mainshaft to mate a NP203 to a 10 spline NP205 - the SM465 solution!
